Candy Colors

Happy colorful Monday!  I hope that you all had a great weekend.  I am so excited I got a new lens! My mom is still trying to figure out how to use it though so hopefully she did a good job with these pics! lol

Blazer: C/O MollyLA/ Shirt: H&M/ Skirt: C/O OASAP/ Shoes: C/O Bakers

There's something great about wearing bright colors on a warm spring/summer day.  It instantly lifts my spirits.  I feel like a big swirly lollipop!  As soon as this beautiful printed blazer came in from MollyLA, I knew exactly how I wanted to style it.  I was waiting patiently for this OASAP skirt to come in so that I could pair these two pieces together.  I've really been trying to switch things up and experiment a little more with colors and prints. I think it's so necessary to do that from time to time so that your style can continue to evolve.  Since there's already so much going on color wise with the mint skirt and blazer, I typically would have worn a white top, but to spice things up a bit I went with this neon one.  The blazer really helps tie the whole look together but the color block outfit would still look fab without it.  I feel super springy!

I have a really busy week ahead filled with a couple of meetings and an event and I have so much that I want to post.  Hopefully I can get it all in this week! Have a lovely day beauties.

EvolveMINT

Happy Friday!  Here's another outfit that I shot in Chicago with Grant Legan! We took so many in this look so it was really hard for me to narrow it down.  But since it's not every day that I get to shoot with him I figured a ton of photos wouldn't hurt :)

Photography: Grant Legan

Cardigan:  Forever21(shop similar)/ Shirt & Jeans: H&M/ Shoes: Love Culture/ Bag: C/O Charlotte Russe
Sunnies: H&M/ Jersey Necklace: C/O MoonAndLola

Mint is one of my favorite colors so I fell in love with this aztec print poncho/cardi.  It also came in hot pink and I almost got that one too.  I love the way Grant captured it blowing in the wind in some of the shots.  It's such a great cover up for those breezy spring days.  I wanted it to really pop so I decided to do white on white with the rest of my look.  I got these jeans right before I left also.  It's always difficult finding the right pair.  After trying on a bunch these were the best ones I found.  I'm wearing my favorite lucite heels again and I'm obsessed with this mint messenger bag.  The extra added touch was my Jersey state necklace and mirrored aviators.  I can't say enough how much I love the style of these photos.  It's so refreshing to switch it up from time to time and get a little more creative.

When thinking of names for this post I really wanted to play on the word mint.  I literally went over a bunch of words and suddenly the word evolvement popped in my head and it instantly clicked.  I am always talking about evolving and personal growth.  I truly believe that I have evolved so much with my blog.  Looking at these photos and then looking back to when I first started it is just so crazy how much has changed in a years time.  I am so thankful!  It's all about forward movement.  Keep building!

Have a lovely weekend and most importantly,
HAVE FUN!

Vibrant

Hi my sweets! Today's post is a colorful one!  I'm loving red and blue, how about you?
(unintentional rhyme) I love the casual coolness and chic vibe this look gives off.

Dress (shop similar): Gypsy Warrior (old)/ Shoes: C/O R31nvented/ Bag: H&M/ Necklace: Old
Bracelet: C/O Happy Wrist

I almost sold this dress and I am so happy that I didn't because it really is super cute! It's so vibrant with the colors and aztec print.  It has a little boho vibe too which I really like.  See, I really am print crazy lately! Things like this are so much fun to wear during spring and summer.  I wore this once last year when I first got it with nude shoes but I am loving the blue ones so much more.  Colorful shoes are so much fun to play around with when styling.  You can wear the simplest thing and just let your shoes do the talking! These ones are amaze and as always, I am obsessed with the ankle strap.  I've heard people say that short girls shouldn't wear ankle strap shoes because it makes them look shorter. But I think it's all about HOW you wear them.
So here's my style tip: I like to pair them with shorter length skirts and dresses because it helps elongate my legs.  I would not wear them with anything that goes below my knee because then it would make my legs look shorter than they actually are.

By the way, I am officially loving my hair straight now thanks to some new amazing brushes I recently received that I will be doing a review/tutorial on next week.  Can't wait to share!

Blogging Tips

I've been wanting to do this post for awhile now and finally got around to it.  I actually recorded a video for it so that I could get into a little more detail.  I receive many emails from girls that either want to start a blog and are looking for some direction and others that currently have one but are trying to grow their online presence.  Most of them want to know how to gain a following, work with sponsors, what to put on their blog, and so much more. So I hope that I answered all of your questions and that this helps.

Let me just start by saying that if you want to blog you should do it for the right reasons.  Do it because you have something to say and something to share.  Don't get into it just because you want to get free stuff.  Otherwise your heart won't really be in it and people will see that you don't have a passion for it.  Trust me, the things you post whether it be photos or words will translate into the type of person that you are.  Your blog is going to be a representation of YOU so it is so important to always stay true to yourself.

I am by no means an expert on blogging.  This whole thing has been an amazing journey and a learning process for me.  I am still learning and growing with it every day. But I do believe that in my short blogging career I have seen some success, so if I can help by sharing some pointers than that is what I am going to do.  We should all build each other up.

The video is kind of long but I hope you take the time to check it out :)
For some reason it won't allow me to upload it in this post, so you can..

Wanderlust

Here's one of the shoots that I did in Chicago with the amazing Grant Legan!  I love the different style of these photos and the way he plays with lighting.  I had so much fun shooting with him.  We walked all around looking for some cool places.  I named this wanderlust because I love traveling and being a free spirit.  I never want to be in the same place for too long.  I want to see the world and I am so happy I got to visit Chicago!

Shirt & Pants (shop similar): Forever21/ Shoes: C/O Bakers (shop similar)/ Bag: H&M/ Necklace: C/O LolaBlue

I did a little shopping before my trip and actually found these pants the day before I left.  I've really been on a white and print kick lately so I figured why not combine the two?  There's lots of different ways to style prints whether you want to mix them with other prints, keep the rest neutral or throw in an unexpected color.  Typically I like to make them my statement piece so I let the main focus be on them. I recently got this button down too.  The material on this is much thicker than my other ones so I know it will last a longer time.  I wish it didn't keep bulging but I didn't want to leave it out.  I added this beautiful necklace for a little dimension.

We also did a fun shoot for StockMFGCo hats, a line based out of Chicago.  We did a little Americana theme with the flag and this was a candid he got of me putting the hat on.  Just wanted to share :)

I can't wait to show you the other looks! There's 3 more coming so stay tuned.  Hope you liked!

Orange You Glad It's Spring

Happy Monday!  I hope that you all had a great weekend and Mother's Day!  I wore this outfit on Saturday to dinner and the movies with two of my blogger loves Daniela and Nadia.  We had so much fun and I tried Venezuelan food for the first time :)  I ended up shooting this yesterday and it was so beautiful out!  My mom and I got a little camera happy because we loved the location and lighting :)

Jacket: Forever21 (shop here)/ Floral Jeans: C/O Charlotte Russe/ Shirt: H&M/ Shoes: Love Culture/
Bag: H&M/ Necklace: C/O Happy Wrist/ Sunnies: Ray-Ban(shop here)

My love for moto jackets is now equal to my love for blazers.  They're just the perfect pieces for layering and are extremely versatile.  I fell in love with this orange one (fab color) and I also did outfit pics with it in Chicago (pics coming soon) so you will see another way that I styled it.  I have been gravitating more towards colored and printed denim because I just think they make any outfit stand out.  You can have so much fun styling them up too.  I got two of my favorite things in one with these jeans: floral print and distressed denim.  The rips are kind of subtle but they add just the right amount of edginess.  You will probably see me wearing these sandals a lot during the summer so I am warning you now :) I am hoping to get them in black too.  I added this statement necklace for a little POP and this white studded bag is now one of my favorites.

I have my first shoot from Chicago coming tomorrow and I am really excited to share the photos with you!  They're more on the artsy/creative side than my regular outfit shoots which I love.  It's always good to switch it up and show different sides.  Have a great day!
